Elsewhere/Ausencia
Installation (2026)

I am excited and honored to be participating in Luminaria 2026 on November 14, 2026 in San Antonio. My installation Elsewhere/Ausencia will feature a series of translucent sculptural portraits depicting figures seen only from behind. Created with an original multimedia process, the works suspend human figures within luminous forms that allow light to enliven them from within and transform portraiture into an experience of searching.

We live in a time when presence and attention are scarce and drifting. People sit together while looking elsewhere—absorbed in screens, distant conversations, invisible digital worlds and daydreams. Elsewhere/Ausencia echoes this reality and gives form to a universal human experience: the longing to connect with another person fully, to know and be known.

Photos will be posted following installation on November 14.
